Trussville Growth Choices Workshop
Trussville Growth Choices Workshop
Growth Choices Workshop, Virtual Edition
The Growth Choices Workshop will be used by the consultant team to explore and evaluate different growth and development options for the city generated from citizen input received during our community ideas exchange workshop series in May. During Planapalooza in June, the consultant team returned for an introductory presentation, followed by a hands-on activity where participants interacted with three alternative futures for the community, learned about their impacts, and considered the trade-offs between them. This virtual workshop is geared to be a digital-twin of the in-person event to the greatest extent possible. Feedback from the website will be combined with input from the in-person event for reporting. There is a short introductory video in the "Documents" section below that explains scenario planning and where these ideas came from. Be sure to click the four "participate" buttons in the boxes to access all of the Scenario stations created for the virtual event. You can always come back to the landing page for the four stations by hitting the "Return to List of Scenario Stations" button at the bottom of each Scenario. View each of the 3 scenarios, telling us what you like, don't like, and what questions you have. Every Scenario includes a multi-page PDF and a voice recording/slideshow narrated by Matt Noonkester to explain each scenario. Open-ended questions are associated with each station.
Input recorded during the event will be used to prepare a preferred scenario for the community that will be included in the new Trussville 2.0 comprehensive plan. The preferred scenario will be created responding to different elements people liked, or did not like, from the three alternative scenarios presented.
Please remember to fill out the Community Dashboard Survey before you begin this workshop, so the Consultant team can keep track of virtual participation.
This virtual Growth Choices Workshop will be available from June 10, 2026 until July 2, 2026, so the consultant team has enough time to combine the input received from both the in-person and virtual events.
